Our leadership team plays an essential role in guiding the association, representing the membership, and shaping the future of the REALTORĀ® profession in our region.

Leaders help set direction, support member programs, strengthen advocacy efforts, and ensure the association continues to grow, adapt, and serve its members effectively.
Below is an overview of the key Board of Directors and leadership positions within SGAR:
President
The President serves as the chief elected officer of SGAR and provides overall leadership for the association. This role presides over Board of Directors and membership meetings, sets the tone for collaboration and professionalism, and serves as the primary spokesperson for the association. The President works closely with the Association Executive to guide strategic priorities, support committees, and ensure the successful execution of programs and initiatives. This position also represents SGAR at local, state, and national REALTORĀ® events and plays a key role in advancing the associationās mission.
Past President
he Past President serves as a trusted advisor and mentor to the current leadership team. This role provides historical knowledge, continuity, and guidance to support informed decision-making by the Board of Directors. The Past President assists with leadership development, offers perspective on past initiatives, and helps ensure consistency in the associationās direction. This position is key in supporting a strong leadership pipeline and maintaining organizational stability.
President Elect
The President-Elect is the second-ranking officer and is responsible for preparing to assume the role of President. This position supports the current President in leadership duties while learning all aspects of association governance and operations. The President-Elect participates in Board meetings, assists with committee coordination, and may step in when the President is unavailable. This role is designed to ensure leadership continuity and a smooth transition while developing strong executive leadership experience.
Secretary/ Treasurer
The Secretary/Treasurer supports the associationās governance by helping ensure accurate records and sound financial oversight. This role reviews meeting minutes, participates in financial discussions, and monitors budgets and financial reports. While day-to-day bookkeeping is handled by staff and accounting professionals, this position provides Board-level oversight to ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible financial management of association resources.
Parliamentarian
The Parliamentarian serves as an advisor on meeting procedures and parliamentary rules to ensure fair and orderly conduct during Board and membership meetings. This role provides guidance on bylaws, motions, voting procedures, and proper meeting protocol. The Parliamentarian helps ensure that meetings are conducted efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with established rules of order, supporting transparency and member participation in decision-making.
State Director
The State Director represents SGAR at the Missouri REALTORSĀ® level and serves as a voting delegate on statewide issues, policies, and initiatives. This role ensures that the interests and perspectives of SGAR members are communicated at the state level. The State Director attends state meetings and conferences, shares updates with the local Board, and helps connect members to broader industry resources, advocacy efforts, and leadership opportunities within the state association.
Local Director
Local Directors serve on the SGAR Board of Directors and play a direct role in governing the association. This position represents the interests of the membership, participates in strategic planning, and votes on key policies, budgets, and initiatives. Local Directors help guide programs, support committees, and ensure the association continues to meet the needs of its members. This role is essential in shaping the direction and success of SGAR.
MLS Director
Provides Board-level oversight and member representation for MLS operations, policies, and system improvements. Helps guide rules, technology updates, and data standards to ensure the MLS remains accurate, efficient, and responsive to subscriber needs.
